Athens and Sparta

The Punch Editorial

After long and gruesome fighting between Sparta and Athens, Athens has come out on top. Although before any decisions could be made about the matter, it became clear that Persians were invading both the Spartans and Athenians from the north. With the Persians invading, the Spartans and Athenians joined together as just the “Greeks.”

With a large difference in numbers between the Persians and Greeks with Greeks having about 1/10th of the soldiers and about 9x the boats, the war favored the side of the Persians on land and favored the side of the Greeks on the Water. With Persians rapidly approaching there are only a few options to choose from.

With not much time left till the Persians invade, I believe that the best course of action is to fight back against the Persians as the only other option is fleeing. Although the chances of winning against 1 million Persian soldiers with only 130k is slim, it is definitely possible. Since Persia is severely outnumbered in skill and numbers when it comes to their navy, the Greek navy will be able to destroy the Persian Navy with ease. They will also be able to provide support to land forces in Greece. When it comes to land forces Greece is severely outnumbered, though with navy support and Spartan expertise in war, I believe that Greece can pull off a win.
